Emma is a data analyst with the Knowledge team and has worked in media and communication for 14 years. She is a Uganda National Journalism Awards (UNJA) 2017 nominee and has been a part of various award-winning projects. Emma has a strong interest in Early Childhood Development and is a co-founder of Usoni Kids, an answer to childhood literacy in rural Eldoret.

Keziah is a data science specialist, currently working as a deputy product manager at CfA. She coordinates CfA’s data analysis work and co-manages DataLab projects and teams. Prior to joining CfA, Keziah worked as data scientist at NCBA Group and the Nation Media Group. She holds a Master of Science degree in Statistics from the University of Nairobi.

iLAB fights disinformation equipped with world-class knowledge on forensic investigations, data analysis and visualisations.

Allan is CfA’s senior investigations manager at the iLAB &amp; ANCIR, managing a team of forensic data scientists/analysts and technologists in eight African countries. He also leads the iLAB team which conducts network analysis investigations into disinformation and influence operations, including Coordinated Inauthentic Behaviour (CIB) and organised crime networks.

Anita Igbine is an investigative data analyst working with the iLAB team at Code for Africa. She has a background in engineering and has contributed to two dossiers tracking coordinated inauthentic behavior across Africa. PesaCheck is a pioneering verification initiative that is kickstarting fact-checking across Africa. Initially focused on verifying the financial and other statistical numbers quoted by public figures in Kenya, Tanzania and Uganda, PesaCheck is now Africa’s largest with full-time fact-checkers in 15 countries in both east and west Africa, as well as across the Sahel.
PesaCheck fact-checks in two international languages (English and French), as well as major African languages such as Kiswahili and Amharic. Our network helps track political promises by politicians (through our Wajibisha/PromiseTracker toolkit), helps unpack budget and census data (through our PesaYetu and TaxClock platforms), and builds machine learning/artificial intelligence tools (such as DebunkBot) to help automate verification.

Justin is the CEO at Code for Africa (CfA). He is an investigative data journalist and civic technology strategist and works across Africa, and also in the Caucasus region (currently based in Tbilisi). Justin serves on a number of digital democracy and civic data/tech bodies, including the Code for All governing board, and the&nbsp; World Bank/IMF’s Data to Development advisory board, amongst others.
